On 6 June 2017, an event titled “WE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE! Conference on the occasion of the presentation of the Guidebook for Developing an Anti-discrimination Code of Conduct for Employers“ took place in Serbia. This conference was organized within the framework of the Twinning project “Support to the advancement of human rights and zero tolerance to discrimination“, and it is one of the elements that support the Serbian Commissioner for Protection of Equality (CPE) in increasing the effectiveness of her recommendations targeting employers who have been found to engage in discriminatory practices.
On June 12th 2017, all 19 CPE staff members participating in the training of trainers program strengthening their competences and skills in handling cases as well as doing awareness raising and outreach work received their certificates.
In the framework of the Twinning project “Support to Gender equality“, three trainings for different groups of referees/judges and court advisers took place in February and March 2017 in order to strengthen the capacities of Croatian judges on EU gender equality law and its application in Croatia.
From the 7th to the 10th of February 2017, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights welcomed a delegation of five representatives of the Serbian Commissioner for Protection of Equality (CPE) led by Commissioner Brankica Janković in Vienna and Graz. This study visit took place in the framework of the ongoing Twinning project “Support to advancement of human rights and zero tolerance to discrimination” in Serbia.
Valeriya Lutkovska (Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights) and Ambassador Hugues Mingarelli (Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine) chaired the high-ranking kick-off event held on 3 February 2017. Moreover, Milda Vainiutė, Lithuanian Minister of Justice, Andriy Zayats, State Secretary to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Austrian Ambassador Hermine Poppeller, Lithuanian Ambassador Marius Janukonis, Hannes Tretter, Austrian Project Leader and Scientific Director at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, as well as representatives of the Lithuanian partner institutions were present.
From May 10th to 13th, 2016, two trainings aimed at strengthening capacities for implementation of anti-discrimination principles were organized for representatives of the Serbian Ministry of Interior in Belgrade, Serbia. The two modules titled "Intercultural Communication and Antidiscrimination" and "Leadership and Antidiscrimination" were designed for fifteen police officers each from various police directorates of the Ministry of the Interior.
On April 1st 2016, the final event of the Twinning project against homophobia and transphobia took place in Hotel Sirius in Pristina, organised by the Kosovo Office for Good Governance in cooperation with the Austrian Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights and the Finnish National Institute for Health and Welfare.
