Assessment of Links between Roma Communities in Austria and Child Trafficking

Cover of Report

IIn the framework of the project CONFRONT (Countering new forms of Roma children trafficking: Participatory approach) the BIM conducted activities concerning questions of children’s rights, child protection and vulnerabilities of children to be exploited and trafficking in children. Policy documents concerning combating trafficking in children, national action plans as well as media regularly refer to Roma children as particularly vulnerable to trafficking. This projects contributes to a discussion of possible links and identifies inaccurate stereotypes. All outcomes of the project in Austria are now available in a recently published report in German, edited by Helmut Sax.
