As the Austrian member of the Managament Board and the member of the Executive Board of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) Manfred Nowak, along with the House of the European Union, cordially invites you to the FRA roundtable 2015.
On the occasion of this year’s FRA-roundtable we would like to mark the arrival of the new Director of the Agency for Fundamental Rights, Prof. Michael O’Flaherty, by giving him the opportunity to introduce himself and give an overview to offer up his considerations regarding the promotion and protection of Fundamental Rights within the EU.
Michael O'Flaherty is currently a Professor of Human Rights Law at National University of Ireland Galway in Ireland, as well as Director of the Irish Centre for Human Rights. He has also been a member of the United Nations’ Human Rights Committee, and has been active in the field of human rights for over 20 years, nationally and internationally. He has been a senior expert for Ireland as part of FRA’s multidisciplinary research network, FRANET, since 2014.
Manfred Nowak will be acting as host for the evening and provide an overview of the work of the FRA in the past year as well as, at the end of Professor O’Flaherty’s speech, having a discussion with him about some of the most pressing human rights challenges we face in the present day. The event will be held in English.
At the close of the discussion there will be an opportunity to socialise and mingle.
We look forward to seeing you at the event, and kindly request that you register vie e-mail : email@example.com.
