Quota for Women in Supervisory Boards – International Perspectives

Quotas for women in supervisory boards (i.e. board of directors) have been gaining increasing importance internationally. The legitimacy and effects of such quotas on economic and socio-legal dynamics are intensely debated. The panel takes on this discussion and addresses questions of conflicts of law, which arise for compaies operating in a cross-border context. These legal aspects will be considered from a practical, dogmatic, political and theoretical perspective.

The panel is organized by the Interdisciplinary Association of Comparative and Private International Law, the University of Vienna and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights (BIM). The panelists are Prof. Dr. Marc-Philippe Weller (University of Heidelberg), Eveline Steinberger-Kern (The Blue Minds Company), Bettina Knötzl (KNOETZL HAUGENEDER NETAL Rechtsanwälte GmbH) und Marion Guerrero (European University Institute). The panel will be moderated by Anna Müller-Funk (BIM).
