Artificial intelligence and its impact on society, democracy and education
Artificial intelligence (AI) is omnipresent, without us always being aware of it. It makes our everyday life easier, for example when our mobile phone is unlocked by means of face recognition.
AI can also manipulate us. Will it be dangerous for our democracy? The first signs of this development were brought about by the brexit vote or the US presidential elections, for example.
In order to prevent us from feeling like Goethe's sorcerer's apprentice, the symposium will first work on
- how artificial intelligence affects all our lives,
- where AI is already has already taken over the thinking,
- how this development affects our democratic system,
- and how we can deal with it in education.
