Vienna´s first Protest Walking Route wins the respekt.net Democracy-Award.
The Viennese city government decided in its governmental programme 2010 to emphasize human rights aspects within its agenda.Thus, human rights expert Manfred Nowak, head of the Research Platform "Human Rights in the European Context, was commissioned with an analysis of the current situation and suggestions for a work programme 2014.
At the event: Human Rights City Vienna, which takes place on the 10th of December 2013 the core results will be presented and the implementation process wil be started.

Austria’s biggest human rights film festival this human world will take place for the sixth time from the 5th to the 12th of December 2013.
As a long-standing cooperation partner, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights (BIM) is proud to present a series of outstanding documentaries on key human rights issues within the framework of its film series "Cinema and Human Rights."
All film screenings will be followed by panel discussions held in English with distinguished experts in the relevant fields.

The conference gathered high-level human rights stakeholders from around the world, above all human rights defenders and civil society representatives, UN experts including Special Procedures mandate holders and Treaty Monitoring Body members, as well as
representatives of regional and national human rights institutions, and academia. The purpose of the conference was to develop action-oriented recommendations on how to further strengthen the international human rights system and, in so doing, to give a voice to human rights defenders and civil society organisations as crucial agents for global human rights protection.
