After 25 years of leadership by its founders Hannes Tretter and Manfred Nowak time has come for the next generation – the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights (BIM) is seeking to fill the position of a new director.
The position will be an integrated part of the currently advertised University Professor for Fundamental and Human Rights at the Law Faculty of the University of Vienna. The chair is limited to 5 years and funded by the University of Vienna and the Hermann und Marianne Straniak Foundation.
Focus of the work at the BIM is interdisciplinary human rights research as well as the implementation of practically oriented projects in the national, European and international context (currently in the thematic areas of torture prevention and criminal justice, development co-operation, business, European neighbourhood and integration policy, anti-discrimination and asylum, women’s and children’s rights, trafficking in human beings, digital rights and human rights / civic education).
We are looking forward to applications of qualified researchers who appreciate working with a highly competent and motivated team to shape the future of human rights research in Vienna and its application on the national and international level.
