Potentials and Limitations of international electoral support: The case of Sudan

We would like to cordially invite you to the forthcoming panel discussion: Election observation – Fostering Democracy? organised by the Research Platform “Human Rights in the European Context”.

On the occasion of the forthcoming Sudanese elections in April 2010 Christina Binder (Legal Expert in the EU Election Observation Mission to Sudan, Research Platform “Human Rights in the European Context”, University of Vienna, Faculty of International Law and International Relations), Yonsif El Kordofani (Sudanese Ambassador in Austria), Armin Rabitsch (EU and OSCE election observation and assistance expert) and Adelheid Wölfl (Foreign Editor, Der Standard) will be discussing the opportunities, potentials as well as the limitations of electoral support of the international community using the example of the Sudanese elections. The discussion will be moderated by Christina Sommer (Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Human Rights).
