From the 30th of November to the 10th of December 2011, the Human Rights Film Festival this human world took place for the fourth time, with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights as one of the main partners of the festival. On the occasion of the international human rights day (10 December), the festival aims to raise awareness of the worldwide situation of human rights. Together with the Research Platform "Human Rights in the European Context" (University of Vienna) the institute curates the Filmseries Cinema and Human Rights, which is also part of a seminar at the University of Vienna. One of the highlights of the festival was the screening of the world premiere, “War on Terror”, (directed by Sebastian J.F.) at the Gartenbaukino which was followed by a discussion with Marjorie Cohn (Author of “The United States and Torture”), Sebastian J.F. (Director), Manfred Nowak (Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights and University of Vienna) and Heinz Patzelt (Amnesty International).
