At the event Kenneth CLARKE (Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) will give a lecture abour the role and importance of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). The talk will be moderated by Manfred NOWAK (Scientific Director, Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights; Head of the Research Platform "Human Rights in the European Context"; Professor for International Law and Human Rights, University of Vienna).

The event is jointly held by the British Embassy of Vienna, the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights.
