The project aims at ensuring the proper functioning, effectiveness and efficiency of the judiciary in line with the EU standards. The project purpose is to ensure the Academy to become a strong and independent training provider for the entire judiciary and to attain a high degree of professionalism.
The overall objective of this Twinning light project was to contribute to the strengthening of the capacity of institutions responsible for promoting and protecting human rights in Azerbaijan, in particular the Office of the Ombudsman, and approximation of the respective legislation to EU standards.
The overall objective of this Twinning project is to establish an efficient and effective system for combating discrimination, thus raising the level of protection against discrimination in the Republic of Croatia. The project shall strengthen the capacity of the beneficiary institutions – the Office of the Ombudsman as the central body responsible for combating discrimination and the Office for Human Rights as the state body most directly involved in combating discrimination. An efficient system for monitoring reported and prosecuted cases of discrimination and for collecting and monitoring equality data will be developed. Finally, a comprehensive system for supporting victims of discrimination in gaining access to justice will be elaborated.
The project aims at enhancing the implementation capacity of the Turkish National Police to prevent disproportionate use of force. The legal framework, organisational framework, tactics and equipment standards as well as training routines in the fields of daily police routine, crowd control and rapid intervention will be assessed and compared with EU best practice examples. Finally models in line with the European Convention of Human Rights and EU policing standards will be developed.
The overall objective of this Twinning project was to ensure gender equality in working life. It is a necessary condition to provide a legal framework that provides equal treatment of women and men. This aspect can be found in the project purpose which was to align Turkish legislation with EU gender equality acquis, to improve the capacity of institutions responsible for the implementation of the acquis and raise awareness of a broader public.
