The two-day International Conference "The University and Human Rights Teaching" aims at exchanging experiences and best practices in university teaching and research in the field of human rights, and at discussing the difficulties and challenges universities may face in this regard. Experiences from several countries are being shared and compared. Participants discuss the contexts in which human rights curricula and programs are developed and review successful experiences in terms of cooperation and partnership between universities and other stakeholders (government departments, international organizations and civil society actors).
Anna Müller-Funk will participate in this event on behalf of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, sharing the Austrian experience on human rights teaching and research, including curricula, programs, scientific projects and cooperation with national and international stakeholders.
The event aims to contribute to drawing a roadmap for better integration of the human rights culture and values in higher education programs and among university students and academic staff in Morocco. It also seeks to enhance further coordination among universities themselves and with NHRIs so as to identify opportunities for synergies in the promotion of the human rights culture.
